Racing has been a way of life for Justin since the age of four. He started out in go-carting and later advanced to open wheel formula BMW and champ cars as a teenager. Now 25 years old, he continues to stay active in his pursuit of full scale racing but has earned a reputation as a strong competitor in radio-controlled off-road racing.
In 2005, Justin was one of only two American drivers selected to the Formula BMW Runoffs. The following year he competed in Formula Atlantic champ car racing throughout the U.S.
Justin returned to radio-controlled racing in 2011 after a three-year racing hiatus to establish himself in the family business, Nature Care Landscaping. He enjoyed immediate success upon his return, reeling off an 11-week win streak in Pro Buggy at LSR Speedway and finishing third in points in Pro Buggy at the LSR Thursday Night Nats Series.
Making a strong commitment to RC racing in 2012, Justin became a major factor on the Northern California scene, winning more than 25 club races in 2wd mod buggy. He also won the LSR Speedway Fall and Winter Off-Road Series’ in 2wd Pro Buggy. In 4wd buggy he was an A main qualifier at the 3rd Annual JConcepts Summer Indoor Nationals at Outback Raceway in Chico, CA and was a Top 50 finisher at the ROAR SuperNats at West Coast RC Raceway in La Mirada, CA. Justin also won the 2wd Pro Buggy title at the 2012 Sizzling Summer Shootout at LSR Speedway in Sacramento.
The 2013 campaign has started in impressive fashion for Moon, winning the Open 2wd Buggy title (and TQ) at the 4th Annual Outback Shootout in Chico and the 2nd Annual Traction Raceway Showdown in Reno. He also won the Pro Buggy championship for the Sunday Spring Series at LSR Speedway. The strong showing has earned him a full sponsorship with DE Racing. With the bulk of the season ahead, big things are sure to be in store for Justin in 2013.
