Eddie was an established RC off-road racer in the mid 1990s, competing in a number of large regional races, including the Reedy Race of Champions and Motor Man Challenge. After a 12-year hiatus, he got back into the hobby full-time three years ago to get his now 14-year-old son Nathan into RC racing. He didn’t miss a beat and since has been a top competitor and consistent podium finisher with a number of A main victories.
He was fifth in 2wd Open SCT and sixth in 2wd Open Buggy at the 2010 JConcepts Summer Nationals at Outback Raceway in Chico, Calif. In 2011, he was third in 2wd Open Buggy at the Outback Shootout, second in 2wd Open Buggy and SCT at the Modesto RC Race For The Cure, and third in 13.5 Buggy at the April Fools Classic at IRCR in Magnum, Utah. He also competed in the 2011 ROAR Nationals in 2wd Modified Buggy.
He stepped up to another level in 2012, competing in a number of premier events, including the ’12 ROAR Off-Road Super Nationals. His top finishes for the ’12 season included wins in Open Stadium Truck at the Motown Showdown at Modesto RC Raceway and Open Expert 2wd Buggy at the 3rd Annual Short Course Explosion at Delta RC Raceway, a second in 4wd Buggy at the Outback Raceway Fall Brawl, second in Expert Stadium Truck at the Traction Raceway Showdown in Reno, second in Pro 2wd Buggy at the Independence Day Challenge at Nor-Cal Hobbies, and a fifth in Open 2wd Stadium Truck at the JConcepts Summer Nationals in Chico.
Eddie is a popular competitor in the pits and someone who is always willing to assist other racers and hobbyists. By day, he is an auto paint technician.
