Cory has over 20 years of RC racing experience. Starting at the age of 13 in oval pan cars, he has since posted more than 100 A Main victories over the years and enjoyed success in a number of regional and national events.
He raced as a teenager in the early 1990s but then took a 10-year break from high-level racing to establish his career as a labor foreman and highway heavy dirt work supervisor. Three years ago Cory got his now eight-year-old son Ryan into the hobby and that re-captured his drive to return to the bright lights of racing. Since then there has been no looking back.
In 2009, he won three large oval races in Mini Mod Late Model, and finished fifth out of 244 racers in the RC Pro Spec Slash National Championship Series, winning three of the six series stops. In 2010, he was second in 2wd Open SCT at the Fall Showdown at Outback RC in Marengo, Illinois, and last year was fourth out of 62 entrants in Stock SCT at the Spektrum Off-Road Championships at Trackside Hobbies in Milwaukee.
The success has continued into 2012, winning the 2wd Stock Short Course class in the Cheese City XTreme Winter Off-Road Series in Monroe, Wisconsin. He also has posted a number of oval racing victories this season and was ninth out of 55 racers in Stock Short Course Truck at the national-touring Short Course Showdown at Trackside Hobbies.
A former All-State linebacker at Freeport (IL) High School, Cory played one season at Northern Illinois University before his football career was ended by a knee injury. He has a number of sponsors in addition to BMiller Racing, including Hurricane Motorsports, and CCS Chassis Systems. He enjoys helping others at the races and has had a hand in designing and maintaining many of the RC off-road tracks in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
