A standout RC racer as a teenager in the late 1990’s, Brian returned to the sport in a big way in 2011 after a 12-year hiatus, winning more than 20 Pro Buggy A main local events.

In 2012 Brian took his driving to another level, turning heads at the national level. His official coming-out party came at the ROAR Supernationals at West Coast RC in LaMirada, CA where he finished 13th overall in Stadium Truck, 25th in 4wd Open Buggy, and 30th in 2wd Open Buggy against the country’s top drivers, qualifying in both electric buggy classes for this year’s 2013 World Electric Championships in Chico, CA.

He also was an A main qualifier at a number of premier regional events in 2012, including in both 2wd and 4wd Mod Buggy as well as Stadium Truck at the April Fools Classic in Magna, UT, and in 2wd Open Buggy and Stadium Truck at the JConcepts Summer Nationals in Chico. At the Nor-Cal Electric Off-Road Championships at Nor-Cal Hobbies in Union City, CA, Brian won both the 4wd Open Buggy and Stadium Truck titles and finished third in 2wd Open Buggy. He also was a double winner at the Outback Raceway Fall Brawl, taking the Open 2wd Buggy and Open Stadium Truck crowns.

Last season’s success continued into the start of the 2013 campaign. Brian finished 6th overall in Open 4wd Buggy and 11th in Open 2wd Buggy against a field of 100 premier entries in each class at the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions at West Coast RC. The standout showing has earned notice from national sponsors, as Brian has been signed and will represent Team Associated, Reedy, DE Racing, and KO Propo as well as BMiller Racing during the 2013 season.

Brian drove his first radio-controlled vehicle at the age of four, and shortly thereafter found his way into racing 1/10th scale vehicles. In 1997 at the NORCCA State Championships, he won the Pro Stock Truck class and finished second in Pro Stock Buggy. The following year he was third in Pro Stock Buggy at the 1998 Motor Man Challenge.

Brian also is active in full scale sprint car racing, serving as Crew Chief for Strange Motorsports. He is involved in all aspects of the team’s operations, including fabrication, car set-up, and maintenance for the #28x car driven by his brother, Billy Strange.

Also an active racer on Virtual RC, Brian is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in business management when not involved in his racing endeavors.
