Six members of the BMiller Race Team took part in the annual Turkey Dash at A Main Hobbies’ Outback Raceway in Chico, CA. The team’s results were impressive with five podium finishes, including individual class victories from Todd Pearson and Lou Figueria.
Pearson’s victory in 40+ Stock 2wd Buggy was one for the ages with a last second pass that was truly memorable. Starting from the TQ spot on the grid, Pearson bobbled in the opening lap and dropped to third. He stayed in that position until moving up to second in lap six. Pearson was not satisfied, however, and kept pressing forward by running 11 consecutive 17 second laps to close in on local standout Randy Lathrop. When Lathrop tripped up on the final lap, Pearson pulled even and dropped the ponies down the final straight to win by 0.121.
Figueria dominated the competition in 4wd Short Course, earning TQ honors before winning the A main by nearly a full lap.
Brian Strange ran well all day but came up just shy of sitting on top of the box with a second place showing in Open 2wd Buggy and a third place in 4wd Buggy. Terry Wickum rounded out the BMiller podium showings with a third in Open 2wd Short Course.
BMiller Racing’s Cory Yoder has plenty to balance in his everyday life as a husband, father, and labor pipe layer and grade checker. So RC racing has to take its place in Yoder’s life when time permits. But when he does get his Kyosho vehicles dialed in and makes it out to the track, the Freeport, Illinois native is tough to beat.
This past Summer and Fall, Yoder carved out some time in his busy schedule to take part in the six round Midwest Electric Series that took participants to races in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Yoder competed in the required five out of six rounds (1 drop allowed) and came away with series titles in both 2wd Stock Short Course and Mod Stadium Truck. His dominant showing in the two classes also earned him the prestigious Outstanding Driver crown for the most successful competitor over the course of the entire series.
In stock short course, Yoder piloted his Kyosho Ultima SC-R to four wins and one runner-up showing, while taking three firsts and one third with his Ultima RT5 in stadium truck. Both vehicles were powered by ProTek 7000 mAh 100c lipo batteries from A Main Hobbies.
BMiller Racing’s Lou Figueria took home the eBuggy title at the 4th Annual Short Course Showdown at Delta RC Raceway in Antioch, CA. Figueria also finished fourth amongst a stacked field in Pro 4 SCT.
Piloting a Mugen MBX6, Figueria earned the eBuggy TQ using a pair of ProTek RC 7000 mAh 100c Supreme Power batteries and Tekin electronics (RX8 speedo and Pro 4 4600 motor). In the main, ‘Big Lou’ lapped the field en route to standing on top of the box and adding more hardware to his 2013 trophy shelf.
